Sarah Platt-Hepworth

Sarah has over 25 years experience in Audiology at St Vincent’s Hospital and heads the team as a Clinic Director. She has extensive experience in all areas of Audiology and was one of the first Audiologists in Australia to be involved with cochlear implants and tinnitus management. Indeed, Sarah is a founding member of the Australian Tinnitus Association.

Bruce Kelsey

Bruce joined us in 2006 as both an Audiologist and director of our Double Bay Centre.  Bruce has over 20 years experience working in Tasmania, Queensland, and the Northern Territory. He specialises in hearing aid fittings and in keeping abreast of all new hearing aid technology.  Bruce has succeeded in making our Double Bay clinic a state-of-the-art hearing centre.

Vanessa Baillie

Originally from Ireland, Vanessa came to Australia in 1980. She has over 17 years experience in Audiology, and is also a founding member of the Hearing & Balance Centre. Vanessa heads the team as a Clinic Director. She has extensive experience in all aspects of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology. Vanessa also spent 18 months working as an Audiologist in the Northern Territory.

Ximena Alvarez-Mendez

Originally from Chile via Brazil, (and now Australian) Ximena has been with the centre for over 10 years and is a senior Audiologist. She specialises in diagnostic audiology, hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHAs and electrophysiological testing.  Ximena completed a Masters degree in Audiology with a thesis examining the performance of Bone Anchored Hearing Aids in Noise.  Although fluent in English, Ximena also speaks Portuguese and Spanish.

Patrice Johnson

Patrice joined the Hearing & Balance Centre in December 2010.  Primarily from Sydney, Patrice completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Sydney University in 2007.  Following this she completed the Masters of Clinical Audiology program at Macquarie University in 2010 with a thesis based on the Measurement of Auditory Cortical Evoked Potentials in Infants.  Patrice was honored with an Australia Day award from the National Council of Women of NSW in 2011.

Kathy De-Lapp

Originally from the USA, Kathee has been with the centre for over 14 years.  Trained as a neurophysiotherapist she specialises in the management and treatment of patients with dizziness and balance problems.

Jennifer Chu

Jennifer joined the Hearing & Balance Centre in 2009.  She is a qualified Clinical Psychologist with specific training in the management and treatment of tinnitus and hyperacusis.  Jennifer uses a range of therapeutic approaches to treat patients including Tinnitus Retraining Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Office Manager - Wendy Hughes

Originally from Liverpool in the UK, Wendy has been a part of the Hearing & Balance Centre from the outset in 1994 (with a break in the early 2000's).  Her good humour, incredible organisational skills and intimate knowledge of the practice ensures all members of the team are in the right place at the right time.

 

 

 

 

 

Receptionist   -  Stella Condos

Stella joined us in September 2010. She manages the reception desk greeting all our patients and making them feel comfortable. Stella is particularly known for the interest she takes in all our patients. Ensuring that appointments are made, repairs taken care of, and the correct size batteries sent, are just a small sample fo what she does.

 

 

 

Receptionist   -  Deborah Dreyer

Deborah joined the Hearing & Balance Centre Double Bay in December 2010. She provides administrative support to Audiologist Bruce Kelsey.  Her priorities are to manage the reception desk, greeting all our patients and making them feel comfortable.
